Even before Hingis came back. I remember times when when she was up a set, and if she got broke or was far behind. She would give up that set to re-organize. Does anyone think Hingis does this on purpose? Because in set 2, she was just rushing once she found herself down a break today against Kuzzie. I pretty much predicted that she was saving energy to turn it up a notch for the 3rd.

It's a good point but I don't think she actually tanks. If the 1st set is too easy, or if things seem to be going her way sometimes she loses concentration in the 2nd for at least a few games I have noticed. I am sure she has tried to get out of this habit but it is something I remeber her doing in the late 90's as well. She knows she can't do it with the level of competition today. I am sure she is upset at herself for this today...All credit to Sveta though for turning it up a few notches and only making about 4 errors in the 2nd set...but Hingis really let her in with a string of loose games!
