I mean, even if Serena leads 5/2 against Sharapova, can someone here tell me who is gooing to win if they meet in a GS final? Don't think so.
Same thing for Henin vs Venus, Venus lead 7/2, but there is absolutely no guarantee Venus will win if they face each other in a GS final.
Between all 4 it's always the one who is more focus mentally who will win.
So I don't think anyone here can predict a win before they face each other. What about you?

Of coursee...but it tells us something about the odds. Maria probably has a better shot against Serena on grass than on hardcourts, better shot against Venus and Justine on hardcourts..

Nobody says it's gonna be a double-bagel, but Maria certainly is at a disadvantage.

Firstly, Henin is retired so no need to bring her into it.

Secondly, of course there is no way to tell who will definetely win a match, but the H2H indicates Serena is a STRONG favourite against Sharapova anytime they play on any surface, any round. Even more so than she would be against other top players. She just has a mental edge over Maria and I'm not sure Maria can handle that. So yes, the H2H does matter, Serena is in Maria's head.

Don't get even start with injuries, during Wimbledon it was Serena's 5th tournament, but she was in final, she beat Mauresmo and slapped Capriati on her way, stop with all your excuses
And I don't care Serena beat Maria 4 times in a row, Henin slapped Serena 3 times in a row, then Serena murdered her, it's all about confidence between them, if you don't get it, I can't do anything for u.
And, I remember Henin beat Sharapova 4 times in a row before Maria beats her in straights during US Open final, it's all about confidence like I said.:shrug:

Wrong, cause I know even if Serena leads 5/2, to a point near, Serena only lead 4/3. A lot of matches where in Maria's hands. And I'm not talking about Maria, about Henin too, to a point near, Henin is the one who lead 7/6 in H2H.

It's not a question of Maria being confident against Serena. If Serena plays to her ability in a Slam especially, it doesnt matter if Maria is feeling confident or not. She'll just get blown away.

There is nothing in Maria's game that can better Serena's game.

Venus needs to play a VERY solid match to beat Maria on hard because Maria is very consistent off the ground and won't let herself go down with the opponent. Well not that down.

i hate to use injuries but when your opponent play the same level throughout the match, you can't bring it, i mean, if she wasn't really she shouldn't have played.

Now when Serena has obviously a hard time keeping it up and serving, it's a bit different.

That said Maria won fair and square.
She did very well at W in 2004, very nice breakthrough. :worship:
