some poeple already call the Williams sisters all time great
double's team..........and they do have all the Slam.....

BUT......there is one thing Lisa/Ranee have that they dont,
that is the #1 ranking in doubles..............
as double specialists.......i believe they are more deserving
to be called all time great the S&V who only
play doubles for fun..........

what do u think?

They will be up there, but I don't know how high.

They were amazing, yes. However, they had great trouble beating Hingis/Partner and Williams/Williams most of the time they played, and then last year, they absolutely disintegrated. From mid-2000 to late-2001, they had a great run and captured many tournaments. I would consider them great, but I don't think they belong in the same category as Navratilova.

They don't even have the slams together to be recognized as all time greats, so NO.

In fact, I think they only have 3 GS together as pair, and they played a lot of GS together.

I don't think Venus and Serena deserve it either. Sure, they're a great team, nearly unstoppable, but they don't play enough to be considered that.

But then, they do have more slams than Raymond / Stubbs in the few tournaments they entered.

Oh, and #1 means nothing unless you have the slams to prove it.

I think they were a good team, but I dont think they were quite at the great level. (i really enjoyed watching them however..)

When i think of "great", its teams like
Brough/Osborne-DuPont
Casals/King
Navratilova/Shriver
Fernandez/Zvereva

all of whom have multiple slams together and were the regular teams for a number of years.

Much as I love them, no. They would had needed another two or three GS winning years to be considered anywhere near the top teams. They did great together, capturing 3 GS titles and 27 other WTA titles, but that's a very far cry from other truly great teams.

I would have to say no. The greatest team
that I have seen were Natasha/GG and
ASV/Jana when they were still on speaking
terms in the mid 1990s. LOL.
