I like Maggie but I've never really cared much for the other two. They just never really caught my attention like Maggie does.

I liked Manuela the best- although I was pissed at her when she beat Chrissy Evert Lloyd in 3 sets in the SF of the 1986 FCC.

My fave Manuela match was when she shocked Navratilova in the 1990 (?) US Open. I think me and Stephano Capriati were the only two to pick her to win that night, lol. She played Navratilova the year before at the Open and lost 0 and 0.

Manuela and Katerina were nicknamed Boo and Hoo b/c players thought they were too pouty on court, lol.

Yeah, they all were great players. I think Katerina was the most underrated of them.

Katerina was my favorite of the three. She had a good career and I always felt sorry for the way she was overshadowed first by Manuela and later, Magdalena.

Was indifferent towards Manuela and Magdalena, though I find myself rooting for Magdalena a bit these days. Just for old times' sake.

The Japanese were just wild over Manuela. I'm not sure if it was the blond highlights, reserved manner, or what, but when i asked my students(I taught English in Japan in the late 80's) who their fav players were, Manuela and Stefan Edberg topped the list. I got a big laugh over Manuela's TV commercials-she was never big enough in America to get on TV! Manuela must have liked Japan too, because she always entered the Toray Pan Pacific, even when they used to play it in December

I do!

I love/d the 3 sisters! Manuela was my fave for years...and I also loved her sisters too! Katerina is the only one I have never seen play *in person* but Ive seen Manuela and Maggie a few times at the Australian Open (and got photos and autographs!). What an achievement to have 3 members of the same family reach the top 6!
Manuela got to no.3 (and was 5th when she retired at age 27 )
Maggie to no.4 and Katerina to no.6

Rollo...interesting u should mention the Japan thing! Wasnt her last ever tournament on the tour played in Japan? I believe she retired after winning Osaka in Feb 94! What a way to bow out, with a victory! Obviously she wanted to finish her career in Japan! The funny thing is, she beat a young Iva Majoli in the final! It was kinda like the changing of the guard for me in a way

She may not look it on court, but off court she really is a character (from all the articles Ive read!)

I also thought that Manuela retired after Osaka 94 but I was wrong because she still played Praque that year and lost in the first round(I think it was against Lindsay)

I read an article about the whole family once and it`s realy amazing what they achieved considering how difficult it was in their country to play tennis or even to live.

I've never seen Manuela or Katerina... before my time. I like Maggie though. Odd - she's famed for her devotion to off-court activities and is part of a renowned sister act... parallels with Venus, anyone? She seems like a very cool woman though. I read somewhere that she listed her interests as 'heavy metal music and sewing'. At the same time?
