Now ranked 319, she's seeded 11th in qualifying competition - she beat Guo Meiqi 6-4, 6-2, in the first round. It will be much tougher in the second round on Tuesday, when she faces 2nd seed Yuan Yue (ranked 222).
Obviously seedings mean nothing - Snigur thrashed Yuan, 6-3, 6-1, but I think her singles run might stop here. She's been unfortunate enough to draw top seed Peng Shuai in the first round of the main draw. That match won't be before 12.30 pm Shenzhen time (4.30 am GMT). She's not playing doubles.

Whatever her result, she'll jump to a new career-high ranking (310 or 309).

Dasha is taking 100K+H Dubai by storm: she's through to the final as a qualifier!

She beat (9)Maryna Zanevska (26 yo, WTA 255/CHR 105) 2 & 3 in Q1 and (WC)Kateryna Bondarenko (33 yo, unranked/CHR 29) 1-6 6-3 [10-6] in Q2; Yanina Wickmayer (30 yo, WTA 151/CHR 12) 4 & 1 in R1, (8)Anastasia Potapova (18 yo, WTA 95/CHR 64, former junior #1) 2 & 3 in R2, (Q)Magdalena Frech 4 & 4 in QF, and today (1)Kristina Mladenovic (26 yo, WTA 38/CHR 10) 6-3 7-6(6) (with a 6-3 5-1* lead) in SF today - not too shabby!

She'll take Ana Bogdan (27 yo, WTA 121/CHR 59), who bitchslapped (2)Kuzmova in R2, tomorrow in the final

Thanks to @HuHu for capturing the DREAM match

A strong tournament for Daria, reaching the 100+H Dubai final.

Especially her win in SF over #1 seed, Top 40 player and former #10 Mladenovic was impressive :D

Snigur has very strong, consistent, impressive, powerful, clean and flat groundstrokes :)
The big problem is her very weak and vulnerable serve (especially will be on the WTA Tour).
Also good tactical awareness and anticipation, but she must improve her poor athleticism.
She must dictate every point. Otherwise her poor footwork and defense get exposed - as in final.

Good players were in the final. Snigur and Bogdan are talented and underranked players.
(Insane that talented Ana Bogdan is outside of Top 100. She should be Top 70 at least.)
Ana Bogdan has more experience, is 10 years older. Daria was born 2002 and Bogdan 1992.

I hope Daria will work hard to improve her serve (most important) and her movement.

She is an interesting talent with a very special style of play. I enjoyed watching some of her recent matches a lot.

Certainly will be interesting to see how well she can do with her game.

She will be used to playing ballbashers of course. But as she rises they will become more and more powerful and less brainless (though given Darya was winning at Wimbledon around the same time as Maddy was losing to Polona Hercog on a grasscourt that second bit is possibly debatable).

But she seems very determined.Good luck to her in 2020!
