Wish her the BEST of luck!

Head to head
Wozniacki-Wickmayer: 3-0

They haven't met each other since they turned pro, but have met each other 3 times as juniors, all of them on hardcourt and Wozniacki won all 3 times handing out two bagels and only losing 9 games in 6 sets total: http://www.itftennis.com/juniors/players/headtohead.asp?player=100052330&opponent=100041250
But it's many years ago when both were very young. At their first match in October 2003 Wozniacki was only 13 years old and 15 years old at the Orange Bowl 2005 girls 18s championship.

Woznaicki ended up winning both the Team Leschly ITF Junior Cup 2003 and Orange Bowl 2005. Vania King won Thailand International Junior Tennis Championships 2005

Thanks!

The juniors head to head gives Caro a psychological edge. Both were then girls though and are now big, strong finely toned and conditioned women. :)I think Yanina will move into at least the top 15 and stay there a long time if she can keep her emotions in check. She has great groundstokes and hits big. She also has a very good second serve which really impresses me. How many players around have these powderpuff second serves that the likes of Serena and Maria get quick, easy points attacking? But Wickmayer has a great kick second serve. Caro though has peaked at the right time. I look for her to win but this could be a very tough match.

I found it hard to predict the match against Oudin because I wasn't sure how steady her baseline game was (as it turned out, nowhere near steady enough). The shape of the match against Wickmayer will be somewhat easier to predict.
YW knows she can't outsteady Caro from the baseline and that doesn't seem to be her style anyway. 'Agressive baseliner' would be my description. She has some powerful groundstrokes, her forhand in particular is good, and she isn't afraid to follow up a hard, deep stroke by going to the net where she's solid. Her serve (and second serve) is good, ,though not Lisicki hard. She also uses drop shots on occasion. She looks very fit and hasn't played too long matches so unlike Kuznetsova she can probably go toe to toe with Caro in a long match when it comes to stamina.
Her major weakness is probably her lack of steadiness and a fair amount of UEs. Her returns aren't scary, either, even on second serves. She's not the fastest mover on the court with that long body of her. It's a little hard to determine from watching just one match, but I have a suspicion she's not one of the brightest players on the tour; she made some bad choices on more than one occasion.
The most annoying aspect of her game is her grunting, but I don't think Caro will mind too much.

I would say Caro is a 60-40 favorite

One popular sportsbook I just checked has Caroline as a big favorite, -450 meaning one has to risk 450 to win 100. +300 for the Wickster which means a risk of 100 wins 300.

A funny/ironic thing about today's match; the same day USO started I set up a date for tonight. I must admit I didn't think at the time that Caro would make it as far as the SF. I rarely date and now when I finally do it'll be right on top of the most important match of Caro's life so far! I'm in a conflict of loyalty between two girls!

It'd be disappointing/frustrating for Caro to lose to Wickmayer and once again this season be part of a young lower ranked player's breakthrough. :( Hopefully Caro wins and puts my concerns at ease. :)
