Re: Why is Graf overlooked?

and since tennis is about doubles and singles both, something Serena unlike Graf also excels in, that would you are saying Navratilova and not your beloved Graf is the GOAT. Thanks for confirming.
There was no need to confirm,I have also said this in other threads that counting doubles and mix Navratilova is on top, just you obviously didn't follow!

Ah yes,you couldn't as Sweety Darling can't see my posts and you just recently registered for needs of this thread

But in singles, nobody is even close to Graf yet,you like it or not ;)
Re: Why is Graf overlooked?

Based on this logic Pam Shriver is greater then Chris Evert as she has more overall Grand Slams and Natalia Zvereva,Gigi Fernandez and Virginia Ruano Pascual are greater then Monica Seles,Justine Henin and Martina Hingis

Anyway,I think that Graf is the player who has been the least overlooked.

Maybe some other players are overlooked due to their doubles results but then we are mixing apples and oranges and get to the point where Helena Sukova is greater then Monica Seles due to more overall Grand Slams won.
Re: Why is Graf overlooked?

SUkova greater then Monica???JUST NO,NO and NO
Re: Why is Graf overlooked?

Didn't say that.Read again :) You misunderstood my words.

I said that apples are not to be compared with oranges in order to avoid this kind of weird situation where Sukova could be called greater then Seles just because she overall has more Grand Slam titles.Simply as that.
Re: Why is Graf overlooked?

Shriver and Sukova won shit all that mattered in singles so they are poor examples. Obviouisly if you are only going to be a champion in one, better singles than doubles although would rather still be Gigi, Zvereva, or Shriver than say Conchita Martinez. Serena, Navratilova, Court all win a ton in both singles and doubles which sets them apart from Graf and her measley 1 doubles slam.

As I said, apples and oranges should not be compared just because of those weird situations.

So,we get to the point where you divide singles out of doubles when some player were just "shit" in singles and include doubles success when some players were good in singles?

That means that every player doesn't get the same chance greatness treatment and that's why it always fails.

Monica has won Grand Slams only in singles, while Hingis and Arantxa have won in both singles, doubles and mixed and have overall 15(hingis) and 14(sanchez) GS to Monica's only 9.

Based on that Martina Hingis and Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario are greater then Monica Seles??? :fiery: :fiery: :fiery:

JUST NO!

Well,if you include doubles and mixed doubles in the greatness category you can't separate and value the Slams being won either in singles, doubles or mix.

If you separate them it would mean that singles trumps doubles, which has been the case so far.

That's why I said that apples are not to be compared with oranges and every category should have it's own measure of greatness so that such confusing mess wouldn't start at all.

And Novotna is greater of them all  having 17 Grand Slam titles including singles, doubles and mix

So,she too was an overall champion ;)
Re: Why is Graf overlooked?

better singles than doubles
Glad to know that you finally admitted :)

That's why everyone put Graf ahead of the rest in all those polls, including the ones from this year ;)

THE HELL JUST NO!!!!!!

This funny pattern of greatness measured by doubles and mix with included singles is just :help: That would put Monica down the list with Novotna,Hingis or Sanchez-Vicario ahead of her, which would be so funny.

So NO!
