I noticed that Maria Vento-Kabchi has suddenly surged up the ranking table, and is about to play Henin-Hardenne in the semi-final Sparkassen Cup. She also has got to the semi-final of the Wisimilak International, where she narrowly lost to Dementieva; got to the semi-final of the Bank of the West Classic, where she was unlucky to lose to Jennifer Capriati, and the quarter-final of the DFS Classic At almost 30, she is not a youngster but seems to be going through a nice piece of form. Does anyone know a reason to this sudden improvement in her?
