2002-10-07 Filderstadt Indoor Hardcourt SF Kim Clijsters (BEL) 3-6 6-3 7-5
2003-05-12 Rome Clay F Kim Clijsters (BEL) 3-6 7-6(3) 6-0
Kim Clijsters (BEL) leads 3:2
Hard: Tied 2:2
Clay: Kim Clijsters (BEL) leads 1:0

Now here's a possible obstacle to the all-Belgian final. If Amelie gets her game going and is healthy, Kim could be in for a rude awakening. She beat her last year at the U.S. Open- that has to count for confidence if they meet again this year.

I think if Amelie is serving well (something Kim hasn't mastered yet), she'll beat Kim on the fast court. Kim plays better against opponents who feed her power to counter-punch with, and Amelie has all that topspin, drives her beyond the baseline and out of position- has a lot in common with the way Sabatini used to play Capriati not so long ago.

if momo is on, she can beat kim. her serve and volley, chip and charge thing is deadly.

but momo has been hurt lately and is no where near as HOT right now as kim...

I was at that match last year, played on a small court. It was a great match. Kim was not playing as well as she is now; but its true, Amelie kept the ball so deep and finished off the points beautifully at net, and kept Kim off-balance. I hope they do meet and it's another great match!

they've both got to get there first.
Sure Mauresmo won at last year's Open, but Kim won both times since and Mauresmo only beat Kim 7-5 in the 3rd at the Open last year and if you think Kim was playing as well then as sheisnow you're crazy. Kim beat Mauresmo in filderstadt isn't that court faster than New York???

It owuld be avery interesting match almost certain to go to 3 sets. Best pick of the QF just before Venus-Capriati which if it happens will also be awesome
