I think it's a good decision. She can heal mentally and physically. She's been in a bit of a slump after the incredible start of the year, and then injury in Charleston. She'll come back to play in the US most possibly.

She’s only played seven matches in the last three months and usually plays quite a lot, so it’s a bit odd that she would need a break now. She’s lost some tough matches, but she needs more experience to learn how to beat the top players.

Doesn’t it look like Clara should qualify for the Olympics now?
Someone said that Kasatkina and Kovinic have withdrawn. Kasatkina will probably be replaced by a Russian and accordring to the official ranking at the time of the cut, Ana Bogdan should be the 1st alternate at the moment and Clara should be #2. But since Bogdan is on the entry list for Belgrade, there might be a chance she isn't playing Olympics. So I guess Clara should qualify now if the ITF follows the ranking list.
