Hey guys.Just came up with the idea to find which match in your opinion is the best match of the year.

This will be held in 2 stages.In the 1st stage,you can nominate as many SINGLES matches held in 2001,as U want.

The 5 matches with the most votes go to the final round.The winner is chosen of those 5 matches.

Here are my nominations :-

Hingis defeating the Sisters back to back at the Aussie Open. History was made that day. The match against Serena was particularly exciting.

Venus def Henin at Wimbledon. Venus was at her best.

Davenport Vs S. Williams @ US Open

that match had everything and im so glad i taped it cos i must of watched it at least 7 times. i think i felt every emotion in that match and it was nice to see them congratulate each other at the end

Even though my favourite player lost it was a really great match I was on the edge of my seat all the way through and thats what tennis is about enjoyment and excitement I loved nearly every second just not the second Serena won but well done to her

Definitely Lindsay vs Serena at the US Open. I taped this match also and think its absolutely tennis heaven. I've watch it probably every other day. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

I also think that Venus vs Lindsay in the New Haven final was a pretty good match despite the fact that Davenport lost in straight sets, it was a high quality tennis match.

Serena vs Hingis in Australia. Its gotta be up there. The drama, that diving stop volley Serena pulled off to save the first match point against her.

And last but not least, Henin vs Capriati at Wimby. Excellent tennis. The Belgian backhand was almost at her best in that match, taught Capriati a thing two I'd say.
