Omg! Poor Garcia. Don't like her at all, but this is really bad! Damned internet. I can understand if here we laugh and exagerate sometimes with "offenses" but this is too mean.

Garcia just needs to tweet something like "I never said that" and voilà, no big deal.
I think she can do it, but it's not that easy. Many people will not trust her, because they have the false information in their head and will not trust anyone.

Who the fuck cares?

YOU spread this misinformation in here, knowing it would spread like fire across the forum and social media
I admit I shouldn't have spread a fake info I didn't check - I shouldn't even have tried to create a buzz around something so nasty in the first place. But I swear I had no idea somebody would take a screen caption of my post and would put it on Twitter literally 5 minutes later. I would have spared myself those worries and would have spared this whole mess to everyone, which has had what is for me an unexpected impact on "real life".

You opened a thread or you just said that in the live commentary thread?
Because it's not the same thing.

Yeah and people are stupid
Everybody is stupid on SM. *
I can upload the match for proof if I want to.

*Va mater les commentaires en dessous des articles de l'équipe.fr et tu verras à quel point les gens sont cons.

I feel so awful for Caroline  She lost the match and now she has to deal with all of this crap, which was completely NOT her fault.

Okay, time to make a final statement about this thing:
I changed my username because I received a question from a Romanian journalist (after he posted the “affair”) because someone from this board took a screen picture of my post and put it on Twitter.
Here is how things unfolded:
As the Begu/Garcia match was going on (I had it on my TV and was on my computer at the same time), I was on Twitter and read some info about Begu being unfair in the MTO she took, etc. That was discussed by some French-speaking fans: I found these comments following a conversation about someone (profile deleted today) saying Garcia was angry with her opponent. This Twitter account can no longer be found, and that’s the person I relied on for this info. He/She said the elements I put in the thread, then seemingly corrected him/herself during the night, and then the profile disappeared this morning (it was called @FromMarsToSaturn). I know it sounds like an easy getaway, but that is the truth.
After investigation, two things emerge: 1-there were actually negative words said by Garcia about Begu, and also insults for herself that people might have taken as actual insults 2-those words are not those I put in the thread and were not pronounced at the moment of the match I put in the thread.
My mistake was to go straight on tennisforum to post it without having heard the insult myself. If I had posted the other info, I would have posted the correct info – the ‘she runs like a rabbit/fake MTO’ thing. My mistake was to not double-check or look for the proof myself. I just thought it would turn into a thread where people laugh about the gossips and the bitch talk so characteristic of the WTA + the Fognini/Sousa verbal battle which was discussed here – we were in the midst of the Cibulkova talking about Sharapova thing at the same time.
The mistake made by other members of the forum was to post the thing straight away – putting my username without asking me first. TheBoiledEgg, Mikulescu and others put the info in their tweets without having checked the info. The issue nowadays, and that’s what I didn’t see coming, is that on Twitter everything escalates quickly. And “journalists” use elements which are not double-checked. I shouldn’t have published the info as if I was sure and for this I am sorry. I myself didn’t double-check what actually happened and I should have remained silent until the actual elements came out. I feel really bad about all this, for Garcia, for Begu, and for the forum. I relayed some info I read on twitter but nobody heard what I put between inverted comas after double-checking so I am now sure this was not a true quote I read and relayed here. I shouldn’t have posted about it without checking; other things were said but not the ones I quoted. That being said, I find it unfair to say that I am used to spreading false info about players, this is not true. I’ve had my issues with some other posters, as all of us, and being referred to as a “thing” was done in the past and I’ve seen it again and that’s not fair. Yes I made a mistake to try to cast light on this non-event, and I apologize for it. If I had known the info would circulate like that, be sure I wouldn’t have done it at all. I wonder what sort of journalists can publish that on a general news website in Romania without knowing what happened or not.
At first, I thought I would stay on TF only for TT, but I will consider other options.
Do you think this erases all the shit you dragged her in and all the hate, awful insults and death wishes she gets every minute on FB? Haters have already an opinion about her: gipsy, racist and so on....and this won't change too soon. You should apologize to her and she should get rid of all those horrible comments or close her FB page.

Poor Caroline.... I doubt she said it. I'm a little suspicious though because stories like this don't come out of nowhere (unless someone made it up for fun and if so wtf).

OK, two things in my "defense" (I'm not trying to appear innocent, I am not)

- the guy/girl who was tweeting about the match followed some TF members, so be aware of what you post and say on TF and on Twitter
- the journalist who spread the bombshell in Romania contacted me at...3.PM, here, on TF. "Can you give me the moment when Garcia insults Begu please?"
The thread was open at approx 9PM yesterday and he posted his news this morning. Professional journalism on prosport.ro by Alexandru Tăcină. Here is the profile he quickly created to reach me: http://www.tennisforum.com/members/200073-alex-tacina.html
Horrible journalist. In fact it's a stretch to call him a journalist. Hopefully Caro 2 sues him.

I believe that 100%. WTA CEO, she herself, Begu..everyone now can say what they want - it will not change anything for to much people.
