didn't vera lose to a qualifier in strasbourg?? i qualifier has won three matches, and therefore must be playing well. it definitely is not good for chanda to be losing sets to a player like foretz, but it does happen when players are out of form.

Hopefully Chanda can pull through and qualify for the YEC and do well. A dream half would probably be Justine-Chanda-Capriati-Elena, tough, but Chanda has the ability to beat all of these players.

Classic Chanda! She loves to keep us fans on the edge of our seats during her matches with players ranked lower than her. Usually, the lowly ranked player takes the first set too. But since this is Foretz (another favorite of mine), I'm glad to see Steph challenge the top.

Foretz is a player that was on the rise for a while, but had problems getting past the first 2 rounds usually, because she would meet top ten players in those matches.

Anyway, she is a French cutie.

Foretz is someone who I have been expecting bigger things from since the 2002 (?) Charleston. She beat Monica in two sets, and almost beat Testud as well.
