There. So much better than that stupid, unrealistic computer.

Rank Player Previous

1 Amelie Mauresmo 5
France's Mauresmo tops the rankings for the first time thanks to her win in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. A pretty impressive victory for Mauresmo who defeated American Monica Seles in the semis.

2 Sandrine Testud -
France's Testud loses to Mauresmo in the final in Dubai, but beats American Venus Williams in the semis.

3 Lisa Raymond -
USA's Raymond, a nine-year veteran on the Tour, wins the third title of her career in Memphis, Tenn.

4 Fabiola Zuluaga -
Colombia's Zuluaga wins the third title of her career on her home soil to take fourth in the rankings.

5 Alexandra Stevenson -
America's Stevenson loses to Raymond in the final of the Kroger-St. Jude Tournament in Memphis, in three close sets.

6 Katarina Srebotnik -
Slovenia's Srebotnik reaches the final of the Copa Colsanitas in Bogota, Columbia, where she loses to Zuluaga.

7 Venus Williams 1
America's Williams hadn't lost a game in three weeks. She topped the rankings for two weeks. She now is the No. 1 in the world, but her loss to Testud in Dubai costs her six places in the rankings.

7 Monica Seles 2
America's Seles dropped six spots because of her loss to Mauresmo in the semis of the Dubai Open.

9 Martina Hingis 9
Switzerland's Hingis hasn't played in a month. Well, she hasn't lost either.

10 Jennifer Capriati 10
USA's Capriati is no longer No. 1 in the world, but she still deserves to be ranked, as the Australian Open champion.

Here comes this weeks rankings!

Rank Player Previous

1 Serena Williams -
America's Williams wins her first title of the season in Scottsdale, Arizona, where she defeats two former world No. 1, Martina Hingis in the semis and Jennifer Capriati in the final.

2 Katarina Srebotnik 6
Slovenia's Srebotnik wins in Acapulco, one week after her final at the Copa Colsanitas in Bogota, Columbia. She loves the clay and proves it every week.

3 Jennifer Capriati 10
USA's Capriati reaches the final in Scottsdale but loses to Serena Williams and leaves Venus at the top of the world rankings. She hadn't played since the Australian Open final, where she beat Martina Hingis for the second consecutive year.

4 Paola Suarez 9
Argentina's Suarez reaches the final in Acapulco but has to give in the win to Srebotnik in three sets.

5 Martina Hingis 9
Switzerland's Hingis had reached the finals of the three tournaments she had entered this year -wins in Sydney and Tokyo and final in Melbourne-. But in Scottsdale she loses to eventual winner Serena Williams in three sets.

6 Nathalie Dechy 9
France's Dechy loses to Capriati in the semis in Scottsdale after wins over USA's Shaughnessy and Italy's Schiavone. A good week for Dechy who reaches the 6th spot in the Rankings.

7 Anna Kournikova -
Russia's Kournikova, who is granted a wild card every week, reaches the semis in Acapulco where she loses to eventual winner Srebotnik in three sets. Anna's fans will have to wait ac oouple of weeks to see her win her first title.

8 Elena Dementieva -
Russia's Dementieva, like her compatriot Kournikova, reaches the semis in Acapulco to lose to Suarez, even though she was seeded No. 1.

9 Venus Williams 7
America's Williams was idle last week and can thank her sister whose win over Capriati in Scottsdale gives her the No. 1. spot in the world rankings. She loses two spots in this Rankings though.

10 Daja Bedanova -
Czech Republic's Bedanova doesn't go past the quarterfinals in Scottsdale where she loses to Hingis in three sets. Yet, she makes it into the standings thanks to her perfect second set against Hingis, a nice bagel for the young Bedanova.

Dropped out: Amelie Mauresmo, Sandrine Testud, Lisa Raymond, Fabiola Zuluaga, Alexandra Stevenson, Monica Seles

I think these rankings are absurd. Jen should be 2nd and Katarina 3rd.
