As you see Kim Clijsters is only the 13th

But when she had defeated Justine in 's Hertogenbosch she was 4th so I think next year she will improve a lot on this list

Tamarine's record is sensational! She must really like grass! Arantxa's record is quite good also...a finalist twice in Wimbledon but lord knows how many times she's lost in the 1st and 2nd rounds!

tammy is sensationable on the grass! she feels at home and at ease on it! i just wish she was like that on a surface that is used regularly... grass is only used for about 4-5 tournaments! i wish she was equally at home on the hardcourts or clay!!!!!

Yes ... Tamarine's upsets have mainly come on the grass ....
4th round at Wimby 4 times in a row!
pretty impressive.... if the tour consisted of more grass tourneys she would most likely be in the top 20!
I think only Tammy and Lindsay Davenport have had such a consitent record at Wimby in the last 4 years! .... top players know not to mess with Tammy on her surface - she beat Amelie in Wimby this year as well!

Good to see Anastasia up there

I think you'd find Roberta Vinci up near top 5

Roby is 11/2 with a 84.6

I guess you've discounted the players ahead of Venus, you've counted some players records on grass who have played challengers but not others.

Urska Vesenjak is 15/0

3 current ones are unbeaten on the stuff
Andreea Vanc , Meike Froelich.

Most of Rika Fujiwara's grass court matches have been in Japan on the challenger

Paul Karen Cross is 4/1 this year.
Baltacha is pretty high as well.

I think there are a few people missing.

I think the people missing probably have played very few matches or they were all at Challengers. That's why they are not included. Their winning percentage would be *artificially* high.

Well I must confess I had the list made myself...

I follow tennis since 1999 and i maybe not such a tennisscientist as someone's on this board...

But I would have a real top 20 and not only the statistics. Someone who has played only 5 matches on grass or almost not played WTA-tournaments I have eliminated.

I hope you enjoyed it and I will make it for the other surface also because I already made it on a paper ...

That is an excellent record for Martina, considering the Mental meltdown in 99 and her injury in 2001.

I totally agree with you, Vixen that if the tour consider of more grass tourneys it would be good for Tammy. But it seem difficult because Wimby's tournament play after French Open just two weeks. There are only 3 tourneys in 2 weeks for warming up before Wimby. Tammy always play at Birmingham, Eastbourne and sometime plus ITF Chellenger in the second week of Frence Open.

I realize that good players have to play well on every surface if they want to improve thier ranking. But just don't understand why there are 6 clay court tourneys even though Frence Open has been finished but no grass court matches after Wimby.
