Ronnie and I are going to be in Tampa next weekend to visit his parents, and he has a line on this exhibition. The only tickets available aren't great. Moreover, they're not cheap. Do you think I should go? Is anyone else planning to attend?
Well, that depends. How badly do you want to see this exhibition? I mean are you a big fan of either player. How expensive are the tickets? I heard the tickets for the Seles-Kournikova match were $50-$150 and on up. How bad are the seating arrangements? I've heard that the only tickets left are for the nosebleed seats. How often do you get to go to tennis matches? Usually, exho matches are not really competitive since both players usually agree to split the sets and go for it in the third set. Besides if Anna's form in Denver is any indication, this may not be one of her best matches.
Let the board know what you decide to do. We may ask you to be our roving reporter!
Sure, I'd love to give a report, if I go. According to Ronnie, we have "lower bowl" seats but they are high in the lower bowl, and on an end. I've been to about 10 matches for real. I have not seen these players. The tickets are about $75 each. I can't decide. I'd love to see J.Cap, and Anna would be interesting, but I'm a little ambivalent.
Hey Celeste!!!!
Definitely go! I actually posted the same thread a while ago, but no one responded...but, I'll be there and I can't wait!!! My boyfriend got the $90 tix, but if you were able to get the $125 price, you got a picture with Anna or Jen guaranteed!!!!
Hopefully we'll get a pic with one of them anyways (fingers crossed!!!!!)
I think it will be a lot of fun and if you or any other WTAWORLD posters will be there, we should try to hang out!
It's pretty lax in this particular Tampa arena with seating- I've actually snuck(sp?) down to better seats with friends at hockey games a few times before without any problem, so definitely check it out!!!
Even if you don't, I will be posting the results as soon as I recover from what will be a good match and some fun out in Tampa!!!
Tampa is the nearest "big" city to Saddlebrook and the home of many pro tennis players, so I think anyone would enjoy Florida's easy-going atmosphere and laid-back attitude.
Celeste just remember next year there are 3 tournaments in Florida (Miami, Ameila Island and the new one in Sarasota) the prices are a lot less and you will be able to view more players. The Amelia Island one is $187 a ticket and includes Friday day, Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. (blchamps.com)
