It really does depend on her. If Sam can get her act together outside of Australia, then I wouldn't say it's out of the question. 04 and 05 Wimbledon winners were both outside the top ten (Venus at 10 ). So if Stosur can prove to be an elite player at other tournaments in the next few years, sure it could happen.

I still see her as an improving player, so she has a chance.
Her serve is massive, and she volleys as well as if not better than any serious contender for Wimbledon does at present. But her heavy forehand is neutralised by grass a little, so that's not in her favour.

I think Stosur's backhand is very underrated. I've seen her really crank a few. It's not really a natural stroke, but still a good weapon.
Stosur will never win wimbledon or any other slam in her entire career. She doesnt have that special quality to make her top 10, I'd even doubt she'd make top 20.
Comparing Venus's wimbledon win as encouragement to Stosur winning wimbledon is slightly off. It's not like Venus had never played at that level before, she'd been there and done it before, this gives her a huge mental edge over players like Stosur.
Plus Venus played at a level (during wimbledon - not disputing shes been crap since)Stosur could never manage.
Stosur's problem is she's too inconsisitent - its highly unlikey she could play 7 matches of the required standard in a row, and she doesnt have the belief - her results away from Australia are shocking due to needing the crowd to make her have belief in herself.

The reason shes No.1 in doubles is obvious - she can rely on the her partner to boost her morale and give her the belief.
If the rules changed so that a coach would sit with her at the change overs (like in the world team cup) she'd have a chance to go top 20 maybe 10. Still doubt she'd win wimbledon thou.

Have you ever actually seen Samantha play before? If you care to check her profile, she has a few massive scalps and good results against other players (she beat Ivanovic, Dulko etc. took a set off Vaidisova and came within a few points of beating Sharapova).Sir_Lance said:
