Pick a biography of a player you like, read it, and summarize what you read. If that's too much work, then go to the local library (Borders won't do) and ask for a tennis history reference book. "We Have Come a Long Way" by Brenda Starr and Billie Jean King is a good start. Lots of easy reading and pics, and summaries of great players to choose from.

Good luck- and I hope you enjoy the learning experience- you'll never be sorry! :bounce:

You're a riot, Mark36, and just knowing that you remember Betty Stove and Rosie Casals made my day today on this "chat" room.

Hey alfajeffster!

Cool! I am glad to hear someone remembers the oldies as well.

thanks for bringing them up - I loved those old broads when i was a kid. Especially Rosie. She was always such a sight in those sequined Tingling dresses. She was so Arantxa SV (with a net game).
