No one cares?

Another big win for Tig
but so sad for Kris Pliskova  way too passive in many many BPs in the 1st set, as always

Glad she was able to pass the Pliskobot v1.0 test. I hope she'll get there to play Pliskobot v2.0 this season! :wink2:

Now watch unranked Tig win this whole thing, wouldn't that be something. If she gets through Siegemund tomorrow (and I could totally see that happening after what she's done here so far) she'll have a player outside the top 100 waiting for her in the final. Not bad at all for a player that came back from maternity leave and this is her first WTA singles tournament since 2017. She would go from being unranked to top 200 in a week, and those points would give her a chance to try to qualify for Slams next year, that is of course unless she gets some more points for the rest of the season and actually enters the top 100, which would put her straight in the main draw of slams in 2020. Not bad, not bad at all.

:woohoo:

Pliskova's UEs and her terrible footwork were such an eyesore. Deserved win for Tig.

Wow, Tzig keeps going! Today she was helped by the serve even more, her groundstrokes are amazing and compared to Sharapova she's not a basher. If she improves physically, the serve and her power, she could become a top 30. In my opinion her talent is better than of Buzarnescu.

Mommy, like Kim Clijsters! Who did say Azarenka can't come back? She can't maybe because the competition is much different, tougher.

But look at Tzig after 3 months of tennis, who didn't watch her already should do it! Because the results are on the field.

That’s a bit embarrassing.
Not really, Tzig is currently playing like a top 30 on clay. And she's not even very well prepared physically. Yet.

Hey, just one mention, Rybakina plays like a top player here. She was out of top 100 before this game because she's young. Sabalenka also came from nowhere. So far Rybakina was the nicest to watch in the whole tournament imo.

Kris' movement in this match. Her BP conversion in set 1 too... :help:

Very happy for Tig to have made the SF. Her shot selection is a bit too messy at times but her game is nice to watch.

Tig :bounce:

I forgot how strong she is.
Also motivated and a good fighter.

The movement from Kris Pliskova :tape::tape::tape:
Sooo slow. You could think she is a 60 yo woman ...
Her serve is great, but the bad movement is holding her back.
Also she needs more intensity. She does not look motivated at times ...

Those who say Kris is more talented than Karolina have no brain and know nothing about tennis.
Kris only has the better serve. Everything else Karolina does A LOT better.

I like karo more than kris but you are blind if you think kris is not more talented than karo. Outside footwork and intensity, everything else kris is better. The problem that kris has, is she never learned to put a bit more spin on the ball. You can see how impactful her shots are compared to karo. But tennis is more than just shot production, its tactical and mental, which kris is lacking by quite a margin to karo.

This was a bad strategy match for kris. She was hitting mostly at the tig backhand in the first set, adjusted in the second but in the third she just went away. She should have won this in straights but her tactics were questionable. I think she moved okay today except for the third set. I mean, i have seen her worse when she basically shanks a lot of ball cause she was so late on them. Its crazy how she runs so early towards the other side that the back behind her is so obvious. She runs even before her ball has dropped.
