What is up with Anna and MainDraw's lately. In qualies she does great but as soon as she is in the MD she can't play(Parmentier in Copenhagen;Cornet in Stuttagrt;Stephens in Rome and now this)...doing the hard work in qualies, gets a great draw but then messes up : (

Anna Chakvetadze since beginning her comeback in April....

Win-Loss record in WTA qualifying: 9-1.
Win-Loss record in WTA main draws 0-4.

Basically she is winning matches & beating top 100 opponents (4 of them) but she isn't gaining much in the way of ranking points, just 87 ranking points for those 9 wins. Must be getting fustrating.

Oh Anna... this season is getting tiring! In a way I am looking forward to when the SR runs out and she just has to enter less prestigious events - on the whole she has played decently during the comeback, but I think playing at a lower level for a while to get the feel and confidence back would do her more good than winning qualies at bigger events, getting hardly any points for it and then not quite having enough juice to beat the MD players. I think she still has the game to be winning these matches, but just needs the confidence back to keep strong in the tight moments at the end and beginning of a set.

Congrats to Wickmayer though... she needs wins too I guess, and must have been nice for her to come back from a set down and win at home.
