I don't remember a strong era for the British women tennis but this must be a new low i guess. No player left inside top 100 as well.

but no worries grass season is due for the ranking aid.

i can understand the overenthuiasm better now when raducutie took the spotlights in 2021.

This is bad but it's not like they were the titans of women's tennis anyway apart from Emma's miraculous run.

It is strange because as a slam country they have a lot of money. They have Draper and Murray will be at Wimbledon.
Kasatkina lost to Dart at the US Open
None of the 4 slam countries have any contenders, but France and US have a lot of tomato cans in the draws
Thats what makes tennis great! Serbia, Poland, Belarus, Moscow.. Talent can come from anywhere
Rybakina, Medvedev, Rublev, Potapova might have been in the same building, like Myskina and Dementieva and Marat Safin and Kournikova

The lack of Wimbledon points from last year is really biting the Brits, as they tend to do better on grass.

It's happened before - around the millennium, Louise Latimer was British no 1 and she never made the top 100 in her career.

I wouldn’t class this as a new low. I still remember the days of 25K queens Mel South and Katie O’Brien. :help: Keothavong wasn’t much better and her game was so dull and one-dimensional.

The last Britless RG was 2008. There were 5 in qualifying and the only one to win a match was Katie O'Brien.

She beat Mel South.

LOL. The real life if funnier than the comedy then afer all that shading of British players! :spitrofl:
Isn't a well-being of tennis in UK is a direct responsibility of Royal Family's members?

They neglected their duties for far too long.

Heads should roll.

Oh, gosh. That has stirred up all sorts of memories. South almost beat MLDB the following year but couldn’t close her out!

The UK actually has legit Female Pro Tennis Players?
Who knew?

Charles is no more a fan than Liz. We'll have to wait for Will. At least his missus likes a bit of tennis.

They have a grandslam champ. She has no wrists. 🥺

I blame Brexit. (Well every thing else in this country is screwed up as the result of Brexit so why not tennis as well?)

If only LTA had better physios so all their players would not have to undergo surgeries every few months...

The anti-immigration Brexit campaign targeted Romanians specifically.

Thank God we didn't have Brexit when Emma's parents decided to move to the UK.

That's what they get for banning Russians and Belarussians last year.

No more overhyped British scrubs for the top players to feast on, hopefully for many more slams.

There was definitely an early Brexit at this RG. :oh:

This is true but they still had the points from the other grass court events. If you added on all the points for Wimbledon last year, there would still be no British woman in the top 100. Emma would be just outside and even Heather wouldn't be in the top 100 if they added the points on she got from R4 last year from that very fortunate draw.
