Mods deleting posts which show the scale of genocide in Ukraine while keeping all those by Putin trolls.Wow.
Censorship worthy of Russia itself. The reasons for the Wimbledon ban go beyond sport. Those that want to make it only about sport have a Russian centric point of view so it's a thread only for Russian sympathisers. Therfore no-one is allowed to make the case for the ban because it's related not to sport but to the Russian state's war of aggression against Ukraine. Oops, I mean Special Military Operation to denazify and demilitarise the "fake" nation of Ukraine and make them remember that they're really Russian.

I'd suggest it's better to delete the entire thread, because only allowing the Russian perspective makes tennis fans look like Pro-Putin Russian sympathisers, which is a bad look for tennis and bad look for the forum.

There's a thread about the war on NT. You can go post there if you wish

Maybe we should just keep your posts. Then people could make their own decision about the sanity of your views and whether being “pro-Putin” and “anti-discrimination of sportspeople who happen to be Russian/Belarussian” are analogous.

The ban on Russian players was applied because of the genocidal war .You can't say "we won't discuss the war on this topic, only about the ban itself" Whether you like it or not those are connected.
Very dumb statement.

We can also deviate just like you're doing on how Russia and Ukraine were separated after the USSR collapsed, because of the Cold War; a conflict that started because of WW2, a major war that was started because of Hitler who rose to power following Germany's 1920 recession that was due to their loss against France and the USA during WW1.

See we can go a long way reasoning like you're doing.

My entire viewpoint is influenced by what Ukrainians believe to be in the best interests of their country. They overwhelmingly support the ban, hence I do. They are an ally we have a moral obligation to as co-signatories of the Budapest Memorandum, whereas Russia is an openly hostile state that has used nerve agents of UK streets. The anti-discrimination line is laughable. The British people who are against the ban seem to fall into two categories: Stalinist tankies or Farage loving Brexit nutters.

Of course we have a moral obligation to support Ukraine against Putin’s war of aggression. That doesn’t however involve banning individual sportspeople who happen to be Russian from competing - the two things are only tangentially linked at best. The British people are who pro the ban are purely sanctimonious virtue signallers.

My feelings are that the ban should come from the top, the government, not sporting organisations. If they want them banned, just implement a new law that prohibits any warring states (or even specificifically just Russia) from competing in any sporting competitions, easy.
like what happened in estonia and tallinn wta 250 event

In the case of Estonia they don't allow any Russian into their country (with some exceptions). Whether you agree with that measure or not they are consistent.

In the case of the UK if they ban tennis players but let in some oligarchs/businessmen...that would be ridiculous.
uk governing party is besties with many russian oligarchs so the hypocrites they are won't ban russians I expect

Not surprised that your masturbatory fantasies over a Russian soldier getting mangled (wherever the hell you watch ghoulish stuff like that) by a grenade or whatever got deleted. Making it funnier was how much of a non-sequitur it was. Didn't even have anything to do with the topic other than just signaling to us how much murderous hate you have for Russians and you're here rambling about "censorship". You don't think there are better forums or threads to satisfy a necrophilic fix over dead Russians than a tennis forum?

The ban was stupid and it backfired tenfold. Elena Rybakina literally a Russian-born player won the tournament and I'm glad she did so they can swallow their pride and stupidity.

Let the best players come regardless of their nationality - simply because it is the right thing to do. I am not pro-war and wish for Putin's downfall for engaging in this atrocity but I also really despise virtue-signaling nonsense being worshipped.
