If she continues this form, her ranking will fall after the US Open. (is it the Venus factor again? Since "beating" Venus at the ex. tournament last winter, she's been in a slump)

my poor lena, when will she ever get back on track :(
No, Bovina is a mortal certainty to reach the top 10 this year. Jon Wertheim said so.

she actually had a really good chance to reach the top 10 during the first part of the year. but she blew it. :banghead:
Its not been since she beat Venus

her start to the year was pretty good
its only since Joe Giuliano and her split up that she's gone backwards
Chesnokov left her as well after Wimbledon.
Argh! This is so frustrating, she needs to swallow her pride and maybe get back with Joe, thats if he will have her back.
she a big hitter with a good attitude. she's not getting wiped off the court, but she isn't winning the matches she should be either. it seems like a lot of players struggle in the year after their big breakthrough season on tour. to name a few:

schnyder (other factors at play)
hantuchova (other factors at play)
stevenson (other factors at play)
smashnova (until last week)
dementieva

the list goes on.

Was he the guy she was with last year? If so, I hope she doesn;t go back to him. He might be a great coach, but we didn't get a very good impression of him, as a person, at RG last year.
That is a terrible hard court loss for Elena! I'm beginning to think Elena just doesn't have what it takes to become a bigtime tennis champion. :(
Elena should have done better, the talent she has.
elena is so much better than that
i don't know what's wrong :(

but she's not the only one look at daniilidou dementieva and shaughnessy
Paola! :)

I'm not all that surprised though with Elena. I've seen her play brilliantly (against Dokic US Open last year, win against Venus) but also dreadfully (all the matches I saw of her at Wimby)
