I don't understand this suing business. "when she was caused to slip"???? WTF? NO. Nobody conspired her to slip. She was careless and slipped. Similar thing happened to me with my bicycle the other day. I hit my head and hurt my wrist but it never occurred to me that it could be somebody else's fault but mine. I (hopefully) learned to be more careful in the future.

Using your bicycle example, if your fall was caused by a defect in the bicycle or dangerous (man-made) condition of the road, then you are entitled to sue for financial redress from the manufacturer or state. For example, I blew out two of my car's tires once from potholes in the road and my state's department of transportation paid for my new tires.

Man-made global warming caused the road to froze, so am I entitled to compensation? I have not been able to train my left arm in two weeks?

I'm a Eugenie fan but I hope she loses this case and gets a big bill from her lawyer. Some floors are slippery, live and learn. Be more careful. Don't blame others for your mistakes.

Victimhood is not empowerment. Bogus lawsuits like this are empowerment only for lawyers who are making big bucks.

Genie is bringing Genie Army and a lot of sponsors to USTA events, so they better pay. I can see the logic, she's a million dollar baby.

At this point, both sides have spent more than 1 million.

They should have settled this with Judge Judy instead of real and expensive court.
