Even at her prime she struck me as a person who treats tennis as a job rather than a life-style. She won't have anything to do with this sport once she retires. But she can become a lingerie model at any time so she will earn plenty of endorsements if she wants to
To do that she needs tennis. Genie as a tennis star doing bikini shots is one thing. But without it her name wont carry much weight. Thats why she wont officially retireEven at her prime she struck me as a person who treats tennis as a job rather than a life-style. She won't have anything to do with this sport once she retires. She was out of the top 100 early last year. And she had a minor resurgence at the end of last season and got back inside the top 90, and the media was hyping her back again after almost beating Goerges in Auckland in January. And she's proceeded to do nothing since and has slipped back out of the top 100 again. It's a repeating cycle. And it seems, at least with the same deadpan answers in interviews, that she has no conviction or motivation to get better. Her game is severely limited, but she won't change it or work on improving. There's losing and then there's failing. And it's looking like the latter with Genie more and more.I thought she had already been out of top 100 before. It's kinda sad though. I near her 'hack the ball' game had limitations and she has certainly technical faults but it's amazing how she was top 5 and is wandering the bottom rung of top 100, or now outside of it.
Talking about needles ...I'm waiting on pins and needles for a photo spread of Eugene climbing the Matterhorn in a bikini!!!
