Lovely performance from Elisabetta. Navarro gives me weird vibes. She doesn't play that bad, but she doesn't look like a top 20 player, and former top 10, at all

While I admire Navarro's efforts to be more aggressive (that BH looks so ugly when hitting early on the rise, though), she seems so low on intensity which is not the best mindset for this kind of match. She also doesn't have the best anticipation to try to be very aggressive.

AI OVERVIEW

AI Overview
Italian tennis player Elisabetta Cocciaretto is nicknamed "Buzzsaw" because of her aggressive and relentless playing style, which wears down her opponents
. The name likens her persistent attack to the continuous, grinding motion of a saw blade.
Key aspects of her game that have earned her this nickname include:

  • Aggressive baseline play: Cocciaretto plays an attacking brand of tennis, stepping into the court to hit powerful shots from the baseline.
  • Relentless determination: She is known for her tenacity and fighting spirit, often engaging in grueling rallies that outlast her competitors.
  • Mental fortitude: Cocciaretto has earned a reputation for digging deep to come back and win, even when facing significant deficits. This ability to grind out wins under pressure makes her a difficult player to face. For example, in a 2025 Billie Jean King Cup match, she came back from being down 2-5 in the second set to win the match.
