comical performance from Iga, who seems to be getting hit by a ceiling quite hard

it could have easily been a double bagel.

Birmingham R1: Ostapenko def. Swiatek 6-0 6-2

What a match for Ostapenko! 7 aces in 7 service games. Wow!

Broken just once in 7 service games, and faced no BPs in the other 6

Was Oysters that good, or Iga that bad? Or was it a case of "... a little from column A, a little from column B"?

Iga seems to really struggle with pace coming at her at this level. Giorgi and now Ostapenko have easily dispatched her. She needs to work on her reaction time and ability to absorb/redirect the pace of their balls.

I’m sure her team is aware. This will come the more she plays and settles in at this level.

Just like as it was vs Simona in RG or Camila in AO, Iga was totally off and it was too fast for her when her opponents had a great days and confidence.

Iga wasn't too sad leaving the court, she won 3 matches in qualifies and this is worst surface for her, most difficult for her technique and footwork.

Wait, is it? After all the only GS she won as junior is Wimbledon.

She still qualified for a Premier. Which is far superior to a 100k tournie ;)

Nem mind Polish no.1 - she'll get better the more experience she has.... hopefully she won't have to wait until she is 27 to win a 100k :spit:

Iga is really trying to steal Sasnovich’s crown. Has now dished out 6 bagels and eaten 4 herself this year. :hysteric:

The Oyster needed this confidence, something to keep her ranking afloat if she can't defend Wimbledon SF points. Konta next.

Yes, Iga herself is saying that, Aga's husband who was a commentator today confirmed it.

Junior tennis is completely different, players aren't that strong and more inconsistent.
