GROSS, GOLDA (nee Golda Meyer or Myer)

Golda Myer was born in California and also died there. In the 1920 census her spouse listed as Lee W Gross-with children Lee M (born January 1913) and Robert W (born circa 1916). Note that papers in 1910 refer to her as Miss Myer more often than Meyer, but both are used. Name errors in papers appear common, as the birth of her son Lee gives husband’s name as “Grose”.

An article from January 11, 1911 in the San Francisco Call indicated she was embarking on as European tour.

Oregon State champion in 1928, RU in 1925.

A northern Cali player from San Francisoco who had a long career. Playing into the 1930s, she contested a Washington State singles final vs Gracyn Wheeler as late as 1933.
