Brianna because I thought she foolishly went pro and I thought she couldn't handle the circuit, but boy am I wrong. I've come to like her so I hope she does well. Love someone coming from nowhere. KK and Sabs loss was obvious because they cruised the entire season. Mary reaching the championship was inspiring because of her injury, but she did take play some great tennis. I didn't put the USC upset down even though I picked USC to win it all. It wasnt surprising to see Stanford save their best for last.

The biggest shock though has to be te SMC upset over Stanford. Some of you guys know, but Catherine Isip is one of my best friends who clinched the doubles point. I didn't think SMC would win though, as I saw them win the doubles point at NCAAs (Catherine clinching the doubs point there too) and lost 4 straight at singles. Danielle Flores played AMAZING tennis to beat Tsay and Jenny Jullien did enough to beat Krista, but Leduc beating Dillon was awesome and sad to watch. You could tell Stanford took this team too lightly and karma hit them. Kristie was a buzzsaw, while Tan and Kostas came through, but to see such an underdog do the unthinkable was amazing. Not many can say they beat Stanford at home, who would go on to win NCAAs.

One shock not mentioned is Duke. Need I say more? Losing Capra to an academic violation, then Kahan announced as missing the season for Tommy John surgery. Then Turewicz hurting her Achilles and getting walk-on Nicole Lipp from the soccer team to play. The icing on the cake was Goldfeld breaking her arm/wrist/hand at practice. How much adversity can one team take? It was a shock, but great to see them shock Texas Tech to make the Sweet 16 after being passed up for a hosting spot.

Some other shocks include Baylor coming from the grave into season champs of Big 12s and also able to qualify for NCAAs. Even though not a shock, it was great to see Courtney Dolehide work her way into the singles lineup after injury. Same goes for Kristie Ahn who deserves all the praise she gets after all of her injuries. I expect an amazing senior year from her. Guarachi making the semis of NCAAs was a big shock as I didn't think she had the motivation or consistency for singles. I caught her win over Sabrina and it was a sight to see her pound the ball anywhere she wanted, even if the weather was the polar opposite of what Sabrina sees. Addison's SF is a shock too.

I can't think of anymore now, but maybe after seeing others I'll chip in again.

Brianna Morgan was a nice surprise! What a nice pickup for Florida! Will she be their #1 next year? (I also haven't read anywhere she is going pro.)

I would vote for any of the USC/Stanford storylines during the NCAA tournament.

I'm not sure if I would put Guillermo over Gibbs up there. Guillermo had other nice wins, including over Robin.

I probably would also vote for what happened to Duke. It was unfortunate and I hope they get back to the top next year.

Joey, did you say Brianna turned pro?! Did I miss something? I know she won that $10K, but I didn't hear anything about her turning pro...
No, I thought she did after graduating and then scratched my head when UF got her because I didn't think she was at that level
