There have been many chokes in tennis history.

Unforgetable for me:

Novotna - Rubin: French Open; Novotna leading 5:0 and 40:0 in final set; 9MP

Sabatini - Fernandez: French Open; leading 6:1 and 5:1

Myskina - Henin: Olympic Games 2004. 5:1 for Myskina in final set

Which of all chokes come still up to your mind?

Serena beat Lindsay back in 1998? Lindsay led 6-1 5-2 and lost 1-6 7-5 7-5 :hearts:

I didn't see the match though, so I don't know whether it was a choke or Serena just stepped it up

Dementieva vs. Schynder at the Aussie Open in '05.

Dementieva vs. Pierce at the U.S. Open in '05.

Dementieva vs. Safina at the French Open in '08.

Yet I love her still...

 at your signature. Brilliant. :D

It's hard being a Dementieva fan because she lets us down at GS so much, but makes it much more rewarding when she actually does win things. :D

I think Kurhajcova led 6:0, 5:0 (but no MP´s) and 6:0, 5:1 with 2 MP´s:yeah:
No 6:0, 5:0 and 2 MP´s;)

But this is biggest choke ever i think:p

Serena choked badly vs Dementieva at the 2008 Olympics
Nobody was taking down Lena at the Olympics. :armed:

Seriously though, I wonder why Serena didn't turn on God-mode at the Olympics. Surely it was a tourny she'd liked to have won kind of on the same level as a slam?

because she is not god, you cant play your best every time you want to. im sure she also wanted to beat Henin badly in their last few meetings at the grand slams but she didnt not manage to play her best.

it happens

No, no, no. That was an awesome comeback. Can't you tell the difference between a choke and a comeback?:p;)

Amelie Mauresmo def Venus Williams.

Venus lead 6-4 5-3*, then again at 4-2 final set. Both times she lost four games in a row.

that is not a choke,I would call it a very wise and smart tactical change from amélie who fought and get that win by coming to the net.
That'a deserved win, even venus admited it after the match.:)
