well, she will win some award. i hope she is getting a large trophy cabinet for future efforts. she may need it.

i would imagine she would be quite happy to get back to playing tennis.

the last 10 days or so have been amazing for her, but i'm sure she will be relieved to get back to a little bit of normality.

It will just depends how they will look at it . Quality /Bianca, Quantity/Barty

I wouldn't associate Barty with only quantity...Barty did certainly win lot of quality titles this year...won a GS, PM, Premier...she also won titles on all the 3 surfaces in single year, something you don't see happen often on the tour.

There is definitely a trend in the favor of the players using variety more than power. It's nice to see it defeating brute force and Basic Ball Bashing. :worship: Playing with variety is more entertaining because the rallies are longer and there is an actual point construction. There's nothing more boring to me than watching servebots play (Pliskova, Raonic...)

I didn't what I meant is that she was good the all year while Bianca missed times due to injury. So they both have quantity (3 titles) & quality ( big titles , top 10 wins ) but for me Bianca wins the" quality"

The best ranking ever for any Canadian is 5th (Genie)
Bianca is actually 4th in the live ranking. She has a chance to set a new Canadian record.
Osaka has to win 2 more matches in Osaka to get her fourth spot back on Monday. Not a given since she's far from peaking and the opponents in the way are not bad (probably Putintseva QF and Mertens SF)
Best ranking for any Canadian woman. Milos Raonic reached #3 in ATP rankings, 2016.

Don't worry if you can't watch the Tout Le Monde En Parle talk show on Sunday at 8 PM. I will be glad to record it in HD 720p and I'll post it on Mega.nz. I'll avoid Youtube because they would erase it quickly.
It should be ready for viewing as a stream and/or download shortly after 9 PM if all goes well and if they are the firsts guests of the show. The file size should be less than 400mb for the 20 minutes interview.

Fitness trainer Virginie Tremblay describes Bianca's late 2018/early 2019 (in French): https://ici.radio-canada.ca/sports/podium/216/virginie-tremblay-tennis-bianca-andreescu-preparatrice-physique-wta-us-open

It's very interesting. :)

Edit: it looks like her team thought Réjean Tremblay had a point, after all... To an extent, I thought so too. It would have been the same if she had gone to Vancouver instead. At the same time, I fully understand wanting to give her space to digest everything, rest and come back strong. It's a delicate balance to achieve and this is so new for everyone, herself and her team. In any case, even if she wins more GS, it will never be again the first Canadian singles GS title, so this is a very unique time.

thanks for sharing this interview...I haven't seen many interviews from Virginie before...since she is an employee of Tennis Canada, I am curios to see whether she(and Sylvain) will still follow Bianca fulltime going forward or not...Bianca said in one of her recent interviews that she feels that with this win, she need not necessarily depend on Tennis Canada(she said it in a good way) going forward.

Bianca clearly was referring to depending on Tennis Canada for funds, not people.

yh..she was referring financially but at some point of time, Virginie, Sylvain might also be needed for other Canadian players(probably for some another budding youngster) right? Maybe I might have missed it but I haven't seen many cases of top players travelling regularly with coaches/physios of their national federations.

I think she was talking about financial support from Tennis Canada. Sylvain said they were leaving for China on Monday or Tuesday...

The situation is a bit different. Sylvain was pretty much assigned Bianca full time and released from his others Tennis Canada duties . As for Virginie , there is another fitness coach on the team ( Clement Golliet) .

^ I wouldn't worry with that. They will hire more people if more young Canadian players are successful. However Sylvain will certainly not be at 100% of her events. He has a wife two young daughters between 7 and 10 I think.

When it was decided Sylvain was going to leave his Fed Cup Captain job I remember he was supposed to share his time with Abanda and Andreescu, but quickly they realized that Abanda didn't deliver and Mr. Borfiga decided Sylvain had to be dedicated to Bianca only. That was a great move because 2019 was never going to be as good for Bianca without him, Virginie and the whole team she has since the shoulder injury.

One of his daughters at Fed Cup last year.

For next year , it will really depend of her schedule. Sylvain doesn’t have to be in small tournaments like Auckland.
