Unlike 2000 no shots really stick out in my mind but the only one that does is Jennifer's down the line backhand on match point in the final of the Aussie Open <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> .

well nothing springs to mind but it is hard to think at 2.30am so I agree with selesfan1 but I always agree with the nice Lindsay comments

Jonny your right that was a great shot of Jennifers if I remember correctly

NejedlyKanepi is that the one she hit between her legs from about 3 feet in the air for a winner....wow that was pure class I think I have that on tape Im not a fan of Mary but that was well WOW

I agree with Jon, I think the backhand down the line by Jennifer at the Australian Open final sticks out in my mind the most. I am sure maybe there were some more spectacular shots during the year, but I don't think anyone expected Jennifer to win that title, and to win it on a clean winner return like that on matchpoint was just really great and proved that she won it by playing fantastic tennis when it counted.

I liked Arantxa's backhand when she was deeply stretched during the QFs at Amelia Island against Hingis when Martina was up at net and Arantxa was about 2 feet behind the baseline and slapped a winner!

But, that Mary shot will live forever. Now, if only I could find my picture of it....

Justine's cross-court backhand on the run in her match against Capriati at Wimbledon

Lindsey backhand on the line (and on the run) when she past Clijsters on setpoint second set in the final of Stanford.
