Do you know why she's using painkillers? She's still injured??

Not a good match for Martina ... 10 double faults ... apparently her hip is still sore

Kateryna is a great fighter. Offensive throughout the whole match, but she couldn't convert 3 setpoints in the tiebreak, oh no!!
Hingis serve help.

she said something about not getting any younger and it's tough on her body.

The Eurosport commentator was trying to translate the interview.

Congratulations! Straight set wins against a very agrressive play giving all or nothing shots and playing with painkillers because of an injury! :( Well at least there's a legitimate reason for the 10 DFs.

Get some rest immediately to heal that hip and just train in your mind for now :)

This match reminded me of her matches against Kirilenko in Warsaw and Santangelo in Montreal, which were both 2-sets thrillers in which Martina was struggling so much... Hopefully she can heal her pain and play better, she'll need it!

If her hip is still hurting, I really don't think she should be playing!!!

Anyway, Great win Martina! She was Behind pretty much the entire match but kept fighting!! Not a great match, but glad you came through in str8's!!
Now...GO REST!

Re: Berlin 2R: Hingis def. Bondarenko 7-5 7-6(7)

Very tough Bondarenko had great down the line shots impressive passing shots, but at the same time weird over heads and other shots. Martina was just playing normal and with no emotion. The interview gave a clearer picture why, I guess she was worried of straining herself and her injury that was why she was always looking worried.

But Martina won and thats what matters :)
And whats important is that she rest and give more time to heal her hip, doesn't really need to train for now if she is injured.

Did she say she was training really hard and the pains were related to some muscle aches?

A third set would have been great. I hope Hingis is fine physically... Bondarenko couldn't use her chances. :(

It was a short interview Billabong, but I'm sure the media will now interview her at length regarding the issue.
