A tight match, and Mirra cracked in the final game being extremely passive. She'll have to improve that forehand, often unable to put any offense into it - which suited Sonay's game style perfectly.

Mirra's FH in the final games. At 5-5, ones that barely made it halfway up her side at the net and the ones that went in were passively looped and landed near the service line. Absolutely 0 offense, depth, pressure, pace, anything.

The decline in production of her 1st serve has unmasked her inability and unwillingness to inject any kind of pace. She's overranked at this point in her development.

Mirra was annoyingly passive when she had the chance to step up. That FH is a big problem because she's totally unable to generate any pace and when she has to play a grinder like Kartal she struggles to finish the points.

A bit disappointing that she folded like that with her experience, Sonay was going for it much more.

Andreeva for the moment looks like a Russian version of Wozniacki with a better serve. Very strong BH and movement and totally unable to dictate with her FH And Wozniacki was able too to lose against plenty of low ranked players in her prime (Paszek, Begu, Jovanovski, Cetkovska)

Andreeva if she doesn't improve her FH I'am afraid won't even have the career of Wozniacki - who was at least able to play like a wall. The competition is stronger now and unlikely she all the stars align for her to win a GS like for Woz at the AO 2018 (Fett choking a 5-1 lead in the third set, facing Mertens at the SF, barely outgrinding a tired Halep in the final)

She will go 0-3 at the YEC, and even probably 0-6 in sets. The way she is playing, Swiatek, Sabalenka and Anisimova won't lose more than 4 games in a match against her. The only player maybe Andreeva will have a slight chance is Keys because her form is mediocre too and can be BBB

Mirra's FH :help: surely the weakest part of her game right now

But Sonay didn't play passively, she played really well and deserved the win. There were some really great rallies that the crowd loved

Yes, credit to Kartal, first of all, but Andreyeva has stagnated if not regressed since the spring. The FH could become a chronical issue, I am afraid, and players and coaches know her game much better now and are aware of her strenghts and weaknesses. I always expect ups and downs in young players progressions, but at this point there are also clear limitations in her game that cannot be ignored.
