There’s no reason Boisson can’t deliver on hard courts. Stosur started out with a similar game and ended up winning the US Open. With a few tweaks Lois could get somewhere close.

Poor Samsonova though, she’s been so streaky the last couple of years.

 

Great to see Boisson backing up her shock RG run… a title and now stringing together some wins on HCs.

Not to say that RG definitely won’t remain an outlier for her… but at least she is looking like she’s comfortable with WTA Tour level.

 

Boisson looked formidable. Color me impressed.

 

Boisson looks like here to stay.

She is adapting and improving on hard courts.

 

Samsonova's season has really gone down the drain after the Osaka loss in Canada... Barely won matches since. Meanwhile, some people here have been really weird about Boisson on HC, so it's good to see it didn't take long for her to pull off solid Top 50-100 tennis on the surface.

A relatively comfortable match for Boisson. She plays with minimal unforced errors and gets a lot of free points off her serve.
Once she broke in the first set the errors really mounted up for Samsonova.

Samsonova did actually break back in the second but at 4-4 she hit 4 UEs in a row and broke herself and then hit a few more Boisson held to love serving for the match.

As I said, Boisson can adapt well to hard courts because her forehand and serve can put enough pace and cover for her backhand (developing a good BH slice will help a lot too).

If she has imagination and believe to hit a return from down there - that actually tells something about her overall fitness and speed levell.
