On paper, Kim should win as this tournament is on hard court. Justine won easily at the French, but that was on Clay, last time they played on Grass in Holland, Justine won the 1st set, but forced to withdraw because of an injury.

Chance is 51-49 in favor of Kim, but I really want Joose-Teen to win so she could prove to the world and to herself that she is not a clay court specialist..

Kim would trounce Justine and teach her some hard court lessons.

Justine should be proud being tagged as clay court specialist because RG title proves it. She can do well on hard but not as good as on clay.

This is pre much the same circumstances Graf had to deal with when shen won the 93 french in Monica's abesense. She was herself not happy about it cuz she herself knew she would have had a slimmer chance to win it had there been Monica. Venus won't be given as much credit as she would win it beating Serena without a doubt. The field has been considerably weakened by Serena's pulling out. Whoever wins should not be given too much credit.

Oh please, get a life will you? Are you suggesting that the US Opem should not be played cos Serena aint there.

Sorry, but this is proof positive that WS fans have no regard for the game unless their girls are in it. You are not true tennis fans at all. You just have obsessions about these two particular players, whom no-one else is allowed to criticise even constructively, else we'll get labelled as racists or anti-american or both.

I think that from a mental point of view it will be crucial for Kim to win tonight. If she does win that should exorcise the ghosts of Roland Garros as we build up to the US Open.

Very few players are capable of beating Kim now, but mentally Kim is still capable of beating herself. This is the final hurdle she has to clear to be ready to take a GS and, lets face it, the US Open is a huge opportunity for Kim - she's been playing brilliantly on the US hardcourts so far this season.

Kim sure will be hungry for a win over a top player in the Serena-Venus-Justine category. Kim will win this time. In an impressive scoreline, i'm sure.

i just wonder if justine wins whether she will be considered a favourtie for the us open. imo she would be whether she wins or loses but for those who don't think she is great on this surface i wonder whether they will change their minds.

Kim in 3 sets. Justine is much better now that she was when kim beat her last time on hard court but I think that Kim will win.

Kim is sure the favorite according to the H2H believers. As I stated before, we're dealing with a new Justine, one who went back to the drawing board last year, came back and evolved well into her new power game. Her serves now match Serena's in speed; her ground strokes, both backhand and forehand, have the zip of the big strikers; her court sense remains as great as before, just as her net game and finesse.

Up until this year she probably had some kind of a mental block when playing Kim. All that is gone. And I don't think she likes Kim as much as we presume. Today we'll have a decisive match. I Juju takes it, her star will radiate over the other Belgian for some time. I've seen similar break-offs in H2H between competitors before, e.g. Davey-Venus. We may well be witnessing one right now. I'm waiting for today's match with trepidation.
