They'll probably stop posting them when Halep is no longer in contention so just hope for her demise.
Halep was injured late last year so I expect her to get back in these threads. But she missed her chance for a week or 2, even though she had a very good Madrid. But 42 went to 46 02 then she couldnt break serve.
It looks like Osaka will hold it maybe the whole summer. She is at 15 weeks now. Clijsters is 20, Sharapova is 21 weeks. So Osaka should move up that list
Halep earned a lot of points on clay last year and she will need a great Rome/Paris combination to stay in the race

Wow naomi has to make last 8 atleast to secure it. Even if she loses early, simona has to make atleast finals. Naomi has good chance for keeping it. I hope she does well and keep improving her clay results from last year!!!!

But only if she manages to make at least the final in Paris, IMO. 700 points is something she can make up in Asia, but 1300 is probably a bridge too far. If she's not performing at slam finalist levels on clay, she's probably not going to be better on hard courts.

The thing that's exciting to me is the closeness of the #9-#3 ranked players. Barty (#9) has nearly a 1000 point lead on Sabalenka (#10), but she's less than 900 points behind Kerber (#3). Basically, one big P5 result and anyone in the top 9 is in the weekly mix for #1. Unless Osaka manages to pull way ahead by big results at either the French or Wimbledon, or by running the table at the US Open series, the top 5 could cluster even closer in the next couple months.

Halep, Kerber, Stephens, and Svitolina are the only top 10ers defending over 1000 points the next six-ish weeks, and of them, only Halep has looked capable of defending them/isn't currently injured (Kerber). Bertens, Kvitova, and Osaka all have a huge opportunity to separate from the pack and establish a distinct top 3, and Barty and Pliskova both have a big chance to pull into the conversation.

Yes, the crazy part is Halep could have taken #1 for next week, but almost no chance to hold it
I said in another thread that going back to Beijing, 4 mandatories, YEC & AO had 12 different finalists and I expect the rankings to show that parity as the year goes on. But Osaka has those 2 majors and should hold #1 unless someone like Kvitova or Bertens has a huge Paris or Wimbledon

How about don't open them then?

For those of us interested, they're informative and interesting.

:worship: Exactly. Thanks!

Regarding the part from your comment edited by the moderators, you must have issues, dude.

But to answer the other part as well, I'll also post one for Roland Garros, when Halep will probably not be in contention.

Imagine Halep in the Rome final again for the third consecutive year with the number one ranking on the line.

What could possibly go wrong?
