I know but many of these players had their breakthrough in the same or following year. And I think it shows how fast they developed

Xian: I think Harkleroad's worst loss was in the Jackson $25K Challenger in 2001

Controversy taints semi-finals of Trustmark.* 15 year-old Ashley Harkleroad, Wesley Chapel, Fl., was defaulted out of Saturday's first semi-final match at River Hills for unsportsmanlike conduct. After blowing a 5-2 lead, Harkleroad was serving at 6-5 in the final set when after failing to convert two match points she threw her racket and accidentally struck a linesperson in the leg. USTA Supervisor, Bunny Williams, was called to the court and after talking with the chair umpire awarded the match to #9 seed Gabriella Volekova, Slovakia, 4-6, 6-3, 5-6 def. Afterwards Williams was quoted as saying, "As a referee, you never want to default a player, but unprofessional behavior that causes injury to any person is unacceptable and I can tell you no one feels worse about this incident than Ashley. She is a terrific new woman who deeply regrets what happened." A stunned and distraught Harkleroad left the court in tears and was unavailable for comment.
Didn't Rodprick's racquet come close to hitting the chair umpire against Ljubicic? Too bad he couldn't have hit the umpire and gotten a mandatory default. :)

In 2001 Anne Keothavong def. Eleni Daniilidou 7-6, 6-2 (i think that was the score!)

Also, this may not be challengers but in juniors in 2000, Hannah Collin had wins over Daja Bedanova:rolleyes: and Iroda Tulyaganova!

Iroda Tuyaganova lost in 2000 16 36 to Leslie Butkiewicz BEL in Antwerp
Butkiewicz didn't beat Tulyaganova; she was replaced by someone else, who then lost to Butkiewicz.
