Clijsters prepares for FLT Innaugural Event

Clijsters practices on the Hardcourts in Canberra

Belgian and sexy beautie player Kim Clijsters is practising hard for the Innaugural start of the FLT season.
''Well I have been in Australia for about two weeks now, just to get used to the climate and fine tune my game''

Clijsters is seeded first for the Canberra event, and will meet the winner of the Qualifying match between Amanda Coetzer and Mary Pierce.
''Well no matter who wins this match, I will be guarenteed a tough first round encounter. But these first few events are all about finding out what type of game each player plays, and gaining experience at this level.
My only real goal at this tournament is to meet all the players and get some valuable experience.''

Kim is also joined in the draw by fellow sexy beautie stars Elena Dementieva, Magdalena Maleeva and Anna-Lena Groenefeld.
''I have been hitting up with them alot, and getting to know them well. They really are very nice girls, and I hope we can all do well''

Amanda Coetzer vs. Mary Pierce

Both players had fight after the first point of the match... Amanda thought that her forehand was good, Mary was absolutely sure that it was aut... Both came near the net and was fighting like on the ring. The judge decided to cancel this match and first seeded, Kim Clijsters, will play her first match in second round!

First results will be on Thursday EUROPEAN time... Sorry, but we won't post these results in the middle of the night only because some players live on different continents

Evelyne Van Hyfte defeated Elena Dementieva in two sets!

Evelyne smiling after her first win on the FLT tour
"I felt great today, I'm already practicing the whole week every day like 8 hours. I really wanted to win this match, it's always nice to start on a tour with your first match being a win. It was also great to play on center court, it's a nice experience. Today I was hitting the ball there where I wanted. Elena was making a lot of unforced errors, especially in the second set. And I took advantage of that, well, I hope to do the same against my next opponent. But I think it won't be that easy, my next opponent is Magdalena Maleeva, she's the second seeded here. She defeated Kirsten Flipkens today in a close three set match, so it won't be easy. I'll just wait, and see what happens."
Evelyne Van Hyfte (BEL) bt Elena Dementieva (RUS) 6-4 6-2
