Because in a fair part of the US, people who insist on calling themselves "Christian" mean only a certain narrow subset of Christianity.

Try going into the nearest "Christian bookstore" you can find and ask them where they keep their rosaries because you'd like to buy one.

There are some econuts who have ran an ad campaign suggesting that WWJD should mean "What would Jesus drive" and trying to make the case that SUVs are evil, but I read it mentioned that because Jesus was a carpenter, he'd probably need a gas-guzzling truck or SUV for all his tools.
