And yet she is in Hawaii playing an exho, just 10 days before Auckland, like what?
I kind of remember her withdrawing from the whole Australian season, I don't understand her situation at all

if her injury was so bad that she felt like she was not ready to play in Australia, why play an exho in Hawaii
She played three sets with McHale so it mustn't be as bad, right?

You must be looking at last year's tournament...

This was last year. Puig had an elbow surgery on Dec 19 https://www.wtatennis.com/news/1538638/puig-announces-australian-open-absence-after-elbow-surgery
