That 1x-minute-long game at 5-5* seals the deal. DEAD @ Kerber's in-your-face come-on when Dubois missed the smash at 5-5* adv Dubois (Good defence from Kerber). Kudos to Dubois though, she played really well in the first set - had 4*-2 with GP, good use of DTL winners but Kerber was just too good. Dubois plays like a top 70 player, at least.

Really like Kerber's game (hitting a variety of winners and being audacious enough to try dropshots saving GPs) but she looks really slow and the rallies are toooooooo long. Should be fun against Sharapova.

Congratulations to Kerber, who seems like a very likeable player. Still proud of Steph to make it to the second round. Looks like she was competitive in the first set at least, much like when she took a set from Petkovic at Wimbledon last year. With Marino failing to defend points from last year, I wonder if Steph may overtake her and be the highest ranked Canadian for the first time in her career............
