I´d really like to know with whom Lindsay, Ai, Martina Navratilova, Arantxa, Babsi Schett and Jennifer will play ; as Nathalie Tauziat seems to continue playing doubles I doubt that her combination with Kim Po will split

I think that the last 2 events saw Kim Clijsters partnering Schett so that should be a hint

Ai could go together with Pratt as she is the highest ranked doubles player without a regular partner

Lindsay and Jenn could play the GS together as they´ve the same attitude regarding doubles, to play it just for fun and for preparation when the surface changes

Anybody know who play with Jelena Dokic next year? I guess she will play with Conchita Martinez again but what about Nadia Petrova?

Hi Alex Good to have ya and good to have someone interested in that topic too

Yeah. That´s what I was thinking too.
Good combination.

´d be interesting to see with whom Martinez would get together then anyway.

If Martina isn't competing, Arantxa will be without a regular partner *again* - - I think Lindsay would be a great partner for her, but can't really see that happening, she has played with Jennifer a few times, so maybe Arantxa & Jennifer? Conchita and Jelena? Probably, they did great, and Jelena has stated a few times that she's good friends with Conchita... that leaves Nadia Petrova out, she could play with Magüi! LOL (yeah, right! ) - although Magüi seems to have hook up with Laura Montalvo now.

Lindsay, I don't know... I think it was good for her to play these few weeks with Lisa, maybe that would make her want to play dubs again regularily.

I liked Ai and Kim together, dunno why they didn't continue playing... Ai and Nicole Arendt had done well too, but Arendt plays with Vis as well... I guess Pratt, Ai, Arendt, Vis will play most of the times together, one combination or another.

Where did you hear that news Adrian? Do u know who Martina N will play with????

I hope that Dokic/Petrova is a team next year! And i would also like to see Nicole Pratt get a permanent partner - someone like Ai Sugiyama!

I think the only reason Kim & Ai haven't played the last two events together was because they wanted to play different events. I'm not entirely sure, but I think Kim wanted to play Luxembourg because it was close to home & Ai didn't. They might therefore continue to play together - I certainly hope so.

Arantxa & Jen sounds like a good idea. How did they do together before?

Arantxa & Jelena would also make a good combination, but I think we can safely assume that Jelena will either play with Martinez or Petrova. Jelena does seem to change partners a lot, so we might see that continue to happen.

Deano, Zummi posted it the other day...It went something like she is looking for a permanent partner for the year and may play as early as Feb ....
I think the fact she got so close to Munich this year, that she might have real crack at it next year..

Adrian, Martina is certainly on the raise!! I think the only reason Arantxa and her didn't qualify for the Masters is because they believed it could happen too late in the season. I think that if she schedules her season well, and finds a good regular partner she should be at the Masters next year!

I think Tauziat/Po-Messerli will continue as both are retired singles-wise and form a veteran team like Vis/Arendt

I think that Ai/Nicole would be a good team ´cause most of the top20 girls choose partners which are as high as them to get a good seed in the events

Dokic is interesting for the mentioned reasons ; Petrova though got together with Pisnik quite successfully whereas it seems obvious that Jelena and Conchita were on a mission, maybe that is something Dokic remembers when choosing a partner for 2002 and repeating that

My tip for Kim Clijsters would be Schett ; it would be a star-team for 2002 and it´s a promising one

I doubt that the Serena/Montalvo team is regular ; comparable to Clijsters/Sugiyama the team of Huber/Montalvo was split due to scheduling ; so I doubt Montalvo plays with Serna full-time

If it´s true that Martina N and Aranzxa split, there is a chance for a Sugiyama-Arantxa team f.e., but also one for Arantxa-Lindsay or Arantxa-Tauziat or Arantxa-Jenn ; they did rather well in Charleston ; what a fun it would be though to see Martina N join forces with Lindsay

What comes to my mind this very moment : Does anyone think Martina N will join Nathalie Tauzia and Po turns to Davenport ( are close friends ) !?!

Kim said that she want to continue playing wiat Ai. Like sk said, the reason why they didn't play together lately was because they played different events.

I hope Els and Chanda keep playing together. They are truly a great team!

I doubt Monica will play regularly ; ´think it´s a kind of fun-playing

I don´t know why she teams up with Jenn for the 8-10 big events then regularly anyway because they were a great team in the past !?!

Martina is still looking for a partner. I think she'd be good with someone like Katarina Srebotnik or Daniela Hantuchova or maybe even Iroda Tulyaganova. We'll see who she ends up with. Arantxa would also benefit from a partner like that.

Do you know, Zummi, the other day someone floated the idea of Martina/Lindsay as a team and I said straight of no way, but now that I've thought about it, the idea of Lindsay's big serve and back court play and Martina's net play (lets face it, it's still crash hot), the idea is becoming more appealing all the time, what do you think?

I think I was the one proposing that

No idea why high-profile-players that regard doubles as fun and don´t want to play more than 10-12 events and know each other quite well don´t get together and team ; Lindsay, Arantxa, Jenn, Monica, Martina N, all such great players

Arantxa and Jenn would form the hell of a team same as Lindsay/Martina

I doubt that Martina N together with a youngster would be as successfull as Martina N together with a hardhitter like Jenn or Lindsay

I doubt she needs a players that suits her in volleying but one that helps her out to put certain pressure on the opponents so that she can make the point with a final volley ; and for me that´s definetly Lindsay who prepares points with a huge serve or a big return and then the volley ...
