Well, I have seen a few articles which say she is from Compton, so, it must be true.Shooter said:In my first post I stated that Angela was from Compton. Can anyone confirm this? I got the info from a blurb on the Acura Tournament web site last year. That's the only place I've seen it in writing.
Angela won't have any problems playing against another American as she faced and beat Mashona Washington in the Qualies, as well as another American, Poulos.Gowza said:what's her game? how much talent or potential does she have? will she be a top player in the future (i.e. top 10) or just top 100 or what? it's always great to see young players doing well on the wta tour (unless they beat your favs of course).
she plays raymond next so i hope Angela will win. this brings me back to gullickson and raymond in memphis this year. the young carly alomst toppled raymond, does she have a problem playing her own countrywomen? or is it the fact that these youngsters may be taking her place close to the top in tennis that intimidates her? or do these players actually bring it and she can't do anything about it?
anyway a good result and and interesting match to come.
I don't think it's that. I think Raymond has trouble with hard-hitters. Carly may be young, but she strikes the ball hard and well. She can easily overpower Lisa.Gowza said:i meant raymond.
I think that pic is misleading...I've seen her in person quite a few times this week and she is still really skinny and small. When I first saw her in qualies I thought she was 14 or something.tennisfan1972 said:She was such a skinny lil kid a few years ago. Still cute as a button though.
