Re: Sir Andrew Murray Begins Quest To Find New Mixed Doubles Partner For Wimbledon

Would love to see him play with Bara. What's not to like?
He may be looking for someone with more experience in mixed doubles like Chan or Stosur? The British tabloids will be all over her 2013 doping ban if he picks her.

Why would the media want to cast a negative light on this by digging up a 6 year old doping offence?

Someone young, decent at doubles, and with something about them would be pretty cool. Someone like Sabalenka or Ostapenko would be exciting.

of course Kiki had to publish TWO tweets to make it clear that Andy asked her so everybody knows that he considers her a good doubles player... chill, gurl.

Im getting more and more curious about who will be the chosen one in the end! But Im expecting Barbs 0:)

It would have been nice symmetry to have him reteam with Laura Robson - back on the court where they won silver, both recovering from hip surgery.

It sounds like her rehab is not going well, however.

He should choose Swan - her job will be to sulk and complain about all the line calls...Then give a salty
handshake when they lose their 5-0 third-set lead.

The tough thing is that mixed doubles points don't count towards Olympic qualification. So In a normal year (where she wasn't playing doubles w/ Serena) you might get Venus to play, but this year she might be singularly focused on that Olympic spot.

Aga i feel was never good at doubles? I might be wrong. But her volleys generally seem too slow / high for doubles, although they are very effective in singles. And she doesn't seem like she'd keep up on the baseline against the male players.

They would be a dream team and it would be a glorious response to Kiki :sobbing:.
While TF would love that, I'm not sure that it counts as an advantage to Murray, to be drawn into an unseemly squabble between other players.

But in case he does end up with Garcia, I'd like to take this opportunity to make a pre-emptive post:

LOL
