This is disappointing. Is Ashely the next up and coming American or what?? Her results don't show it. She's bagled by Barna, and few weeks before wimbledon was double bagled by Fernandez. And Tracy Austin said Ashely would be top 20...I don't see it though.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the final score. What is bothersome is that by the age of 18 (which is Ashley's age), Lindsay, Jennifer, Venus and Serena all won at least one Tier I title.

Harkleroad plays a lot like Kournikova, without the variety. But from the baseline, they're carbon copies. Extremely fast, very flat "almost powerful" shots, and even the way they strike the ball.

Ashley has had two good tournaments this year - and that is all. And both times, she was lucky to get Hantuchova's bonus points.

I think Ashley has to plan her year around the spring clay court season.
The slower the surface, the better, imo.
