Well if those players should (consecutively) win the 4 Slams next year, I for one would be very happy.

Well Lindsay had something NONE of them had, i.e. 7 tournament victories including consistent results in Grand slams

Lindsay had 7 victories
Lowest ranked player in that list is ranked 7

*Slaps easy* You little pest. I know you love finding patterns and stuff, but this is getting ridiculous.

Strange indeed. 4 different runners-up all finishing in a row. Behind 2 different multi-slam winners. Behind a 7th player.

The odd thing is that 2 players each were good enough to win 2 slams, and each played the other 2 without reaching another final.

It's been a wacky year.

From the Hingis Year on (1997), every female winner of RG has experienced Bad Things in their career.
1997: Iva Majoli. Nuff said - fell out of top 400, and although she's made a successful comeback, she's not the top player she was
1998: ASV. Has done precisely nothing of note since, and has been on an interminable, if gradual, slide.
1999: Steffi Graf. Retirement isn't a Bad Thing per se, but look how it happened: losing the final of the Grand Slam she loved the most, then going out with an injury. In relative terms, that's bad.
2000: Mary Pierce. Currently out of top 100. Rumours abound of retirement. May come back, but it's not happened yet.
2001: Jennifer Capriati. Count the number of titles she's won since RG. That's right, 0. Count the number of top players she's beaten since RG. 1 - an ill Serena Williams at Wimbledon. Count the number of people who seriously think she'll defend either Slam next year. Well, there you go.

it's Melanie Molitor's voodoo, I tell you. She's making every woman who wins RG before her daughter pay.

[email protected] infamous curse! lol

I think that curse is hitting Hingis right in the ass.. She has never won the French Open and since she crossed that net.. she has 0 slams. That is the real curse.
