lovely lady but c'mon she's awful, Laura Robson would be better and interesting to see Laura doing on court interviews in Australia, i've just read Sue Barker's book and she started in Australia and I wonder if Laura will go far in Media, she seems very good and would be better than the giggling Lim I don't even remember her getting to the Third Round of a Slam?
She did twice, in qualies :p

I get the feeling Tim and Mats are trying ever so hard not to giggle with her. Why is Babs not there because she lives in Aus? Interesting no Annabel Croft for Eurosport
I enjoyed Annabel like 5-6 years ago at SkySports which I was watching through streams. Probably Ms. Croft got too old, so retired from commentating. She was really great, enjoyed her insightful questions at interviews.

I liked her very much as a player, I was so sorry that she suffered a career ending injury. She seems to be not just a nice lady, but has very balanced opinions and knows what makes a player great, and how strenuous it could be competing at the biggest tourneys.

Yeah I can see Robson dominating the scene from here on. Far more eloquent than Barker ever was. Easy on the eye too. Bit of a snowflake but that's a gimme in the media. It's tougher to grab a mic and keep talking than you'd imagine.

Annabel is working for bbc radio I believe she's still commentating

Isn't Croft doing Amazon Prime or used to?

Annabel Croft was definitely still commentating all last year on the BBC, Amazon prime, Eurosport and also still doing on court interviews. She can of course do the BBC radio commentary from London. But perhaps her age - not her talent - is becoming an issue for the tv broadcasters so they want younger presenters?

Eurosport/Discovery also only does the Australian open and the French - so its quite limited if you want an all year role.

Perhaps though she just didn't fancy taking two weeks out of her time to go to Australia - perhaps she just doesn't need the money either anymore and has other interests.

I have no doubt we will see her back commentating and doing on court interviews - and certainly for the grass court season even if she isn't a lead presenter.

Amazon aren't bidding for the WTA and ATP tennis rights for the UK and Ireland - so their coverage will end with the ATP finals in November. Not sure if their rumoured replacement - Sky - will keep Annabel on?

@Markym Eurosport also does US Open and they did Linz until it fell off the calendar last season. I don't know if they picked it up for the return this season though.

The tennis broadcasting rights are different in the UK and Republic of Ireland to the rest of Europe including Poland.

Amazon prime has held the US open rights in the UK and Ireland in recent years - from this year its going to Sky until at least 2027. Amazon also holds the main WTA and ATP rights too in the UK and Ireland.

In pretty much the rest of Europe I agree Eurosport has the US open rights and also as in the UK shows the occasional 250 event. Eurosport/Discovery also shows the French and Australian open in the UK.

Annabel being a Brit will go where the UK core rights are - currently Amazon for 40 plus weeks of the year and we expect soon to be Sky.

I know she goes on GB News now and speaks on issues, personally yuck GB News is a horrid, Fox News GB it should be called!

Did she officially retire from tennis?
No. She still played W25 Calvi last year. Won two Q matches and lost to Ponchet in R1. I believe there was even a thread for this match in GM :oh:

Oh ok. Well I guess she is transitioning towards new career. I don’t think she has serious plans about tennis anymore.
