Sewing holds. I wasn't paying attention when the injury happened. I'll rewind later. Trainer attending to Ali now. Haven't heard that an MTO has been called.

More medical attention at change over. Guess it's the ankle. Or maybe not, I don't see tape.

3 more MP for Sewing. 7-9

It's over.

Ok, rewatched, and Ali slipped and fell down screaming and clutching her left knee.

The umpire got down to speak to Ali, then returned to her chair to call for medical assistance.

This match seems insane. I hope Ali is okay.

Sofia was on a five match losing streak and seemed to not want to break it today.

Ali and Eliz Maloney are the British contingent at the European Junior Championships in Klosters.

Ali gets a first round bye and then plays Eleni Makride of Cyprus in R2.

R2: Ali Collins def. Eleni Makride 6-1 6-0

Easy start but next is Jule Niemeier so it'll get much harder.

EDIT: Lost to Niemeier 6-7(5) 2-6.

R64: (Q) Nicole Hammond def. Ali Collins 6-2 2-1 ret.

Well that's a disaster. She pulled out of doubles too with Jule Niemeier and they were replaced by alternates. Terrible timing. Hope it's nothing long term.

All those wild cards we gave out to Americans in the junior grass court swing, and did we get nothing in return? Oh well, virtue is its own reward, they say.

When I saw how the first set was going I was sure Ali was gonna crash out here. Put in 6 DFs in that set. Credit to her for battling through but maybe a bit worrying that she struggled in this match.

I guess Yepifanova is in good form. Qualified at College Park last week and has been making deep runs in Grade 4s this year.

Ali will need to be better for the next one.
