Despite a poor showing in the summer's slams (though losing to Mintegi Del Olmo in 3 sets retrospectively seems a fine effort).
Yeah, and her service game kills her momentum at times. She's getting scouted a lot via YouTube videos of her previous games, which gives her an extra hard time facing new opponents each time. But there's a good thing coming from that, as she'll be getting push to her limits in order for her to know which exactly needs to be added/improved in her arsenal or which aspect of her game needs to hone more importantly at this young age of 16.

Its nothing remarkable to see a 16 year old as nr 1 juniors. Her WTA ranking is far outside top 300. So move this to juniors topics. When she reach the top 100 then it will be interesting for GM. But ok she has a better itf ranking then the hyped sisters so that is a good thing

I agree to put or move this topic to Juniors' thread... my bad. However, I don't think there are rules wherein it requires at least to be in the top 100 in rankings (Junior or a Prof) for a subject player worthy of discussion inside this thread.

Anyway, if you don't feel she's not worthy of a topic, you may simply ignore or unfollow or report to the admin about this thread topic, and then move on. Otherwise, apply to become a forum admin if you believe you are worthy of such responsibility. Then do the appropriate action accordingly.

Why is this GM worthy exactly?
At the moment, she's the only known tennis player (1 out of 111 million people) in the Philippines that excels or shows potential to really be successful internationally at the tender age of 16. And... Who knows? ─ Maybe someday, a few Filipino kids or teenagers starting to show potential in the future and worthy of this GM thread ; )─

Even though she's not that worthy of your eyes... This young human being who lives under one firmament like all of us doesn't look in a lowly position in the eyes of our creator.

Anyway, if you disagree, you may simply ignore or unfollow or report to the admin about this thread topic, and then move on. Otherwise, apply to become a forum admin if you believe you are worthy of such responsibility. Then do the appropriate action accordingly and without prejudice.

Gauff was junior world number one at age 14/15 😀
Outside of Iga Świątek, Coco Gauff is one of the tennis players being lookup by her own generation. She truly excels despite her young age.

She is the youngest player ranked in the top 100, 50, and 25 (#23 career-high) by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA)

She was 14 since a month. She became nr 1 juniors after she won RG jr. so the juniors today are doing nothing extraordinary. They are 1 year younger and still far outside top 100. Coco is more the generation as this girls then she is from iga or tauson generation

Havaj bring her up and he is not a fan at all. But he was right. Those girls are all 16 this year and still not nr 1 juniors or have win a jr GS. So really nothing remarkable about this sweet girls.

You need to be optimistic about Top juniors right now, they are the future. Don't downplay the current status of these young and promising tennis players who are in the process to become successful.

Anyway, are the current WTA Top 10 or 20 won a GS in their juniors before? How many are they?

Not all are gifted ( e.g. genes, resources, opportunity... etc) like Coco Gauff during her junior careers

The Philippines always has boxing and the Miss Universe pageant. Little boys will grow up and box, little girls will grow up and put on an evening gown. There is hope:sneaky:

How tall is she? Really hope she makes top 100 eventually. Very few Southeast Asians do, so she shows some promise. I just think her #2 ranking is padded because of the large number of tournaments she plays.
